Bloom Mixer Is Here

We are launching Bloom Mixer, a paid program on top of our free weekly meetups. The free meetups continue exactly as before. Mixer adds one thing on top: small curated dinners.

Why we are starting this

Last week we held a retrospective with members, no speakers, no agenda. The thing we heard most was not seminars but connection: people want more rooms where they simply talk. Strangers who met that night kept the conversation going for nearly four hours. Our events always include roundtables, but a two hour event usually ends right when the conversation gets deep. Mixer picks up where that ends.

How it works

• You fill in an application, and we match groups of 4 to 6 by interests, area, and budget
• Each group meets for dinner at its own venue. No speakers, no sessions, only conversation
• The 20,000 won fee covers curation and matching. Everyone orders and pays for their own food
• Open to anyone who has attended a Bloom meetup or is on our Discord

The dinner I joined in LA

The model comes from a community I joined on a trip to LA last year, run by a local VC. Alongside regular meetups, you could pay a matching fee and get sent to a dinner with strangers who shared your interests. I went not knowing who would show up. Two of the four became lasting contacts, and I later visited one of them at their office. After the dinner, a survey asked how the matching went, and whether anyone at the table was rude. Good rooms come from good curation. That stuck with me.

How to join
